Breath of the Wild Caps and How to Survive

• • Early weapons break very easily. There are plenty to be had (even a branch can be used as a basic sword), but make sure you’re fully stocked up before facing off against your enemies.
  • Your remote bomb run ability is helpful in combat. Lay a bomb down and lure your enemies over it while giving chase after it, or lob one into a group of enemies.
  • Remote bombs can be spherical or cuboid. If you’re on uneven land, the cuboid can be placed down and won’t roll away.
  • Take part in a sidequest to increase your inventory size early by finding and completing the Maraca-shaking tree located just outside Kakariko Village, on the cliff edge. The maracas can be reclaimed through simple defeats of enemies (you will also need Korok seeds), and you gain an extensive inventory in return. You can expand your inventory further if you purchase more Korok seeds. Whenever you choose a weapon stash size, a bow stash size, or a shield stash size, you can choose between them. The number of Korok seeds needed to upgrade a stash increases each time. Hestu can be found in Korok Forest once he disappears.
• Grab any plants or food you see along the way. Even if you don’t need it immediately, it may come in handy later on. These items are handy when cooking food and making elixirs.
• At midnight on unlucky nights, the Blood Moon appears, the sky turns red, and monsters that had been slain return to the land. It is a dangerous time to be around, so make sure you don’t find yourself exposed and out in the open.
• Toss bait into the water to lure fish. Various types of bait are required for different fish.
• By adding more effect-imparting ingredients to delicious meals, you will get more of that effect after you consume the food.
• Some weapons are useless in melee combat, but they will deal double damage if you successfully throw one at an enemy.
• When you time side hops and dodges correctly in combat, you can initiate a Flurry Attack. A button prompt appears, allowing you to hammer Y to launch a string of strikes.
• When you draw your bow while jumping from a high place, time will slow down, allowing you to aim with more precision.
• It’s possible to steal enemy weapons from camps. Grab what you can from enemy territory before entering battle to leave them without powerful offensive tools.
• Trade-in Spirit Orbs at prayer statues to get more stamina or extra heart containers. Four orbs are required for each prayer, which are obtained by completing trials within shrines.
• If you need more health or stamina to beat a particular boss or perform a specific task, you can respec them by visiting a unique statue.
• If you use a weapon with a specific element against an enemy of the opposite element type, you’ll deal more damage. For example, fire on ice.
• Ancient weapons are great for fighting ancient enemies, such as the Guardians.
• If you find walking down mountains too slow, you can Shield Surf by jumping on your drawn shield.
